The AMNET results have been incorporated into the National Environmental Performance Partnership System (NEPPS) as a primary environmental indicator of water quality impairment. Statewide AMNET monitoring is a commitment in the NEPPS PPA with EPA Region 2, and a key element of NJ's Long-term Water Monitoring and Assessment Strategy. Dr. Cryer is co-author of the Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale, (Harms, Cryer & Clifford, ) and the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised Edition (Harms, Clifford & Cryer, ) and has worked with various teams to develop numerous other quality assessment instruments.
These water quality data are used annually for the assessment of waterbody health by means of a comprehensive approach. Hundreds of assessments of individual waterbodies are conducted each year. Additionally, as part of this report, a statewide water quality condition is presented using an unbiased random monitoring design.
